I can almost hear the quittin’ time whistle!

So here I am at 5:56 in the am sitting in triage at my place of employment. It was nice to get “sprung forward” an hour tonight and I look forward to the drive home. Right now I have no patients checking in but I am sure that will change in a few minutes just because I said that. Larry the environmental services guy is waxing the floor, I just never knew that you were supposed to smell burning rubber during that type of procedure. The hum of the Advance vs 20/buffing machine is ringing in my ears and I can’t make out my own thoughts but somehow I am managing to type them here, lucky you!

Disorganized thoughts from the ER at 6 am, here goes:

Housekeeping at 9 o’clock, using that hepa filtration vacuum that has seen better days, she doesn’t look happy. The tele is playing some really messed up cartoon and the characters appear to have distorted faces, I don’t remember cartoons being like that when I was a kid. We watched stuff like Captain Caveman, Jewell, Johnny Quest, now that was the schizzle, remember Johnny, Hodgi, and Bandit the dog, dang they had some good times. The cartoon I’m watching right now has a multi-colored toucan lying on the floor screaming and crying…it’s no wonder this generation has issues 🙂

Anyway, this is turning out to be another blog about nothing.

It was a good night, we weren’t terribly busy. We have this one nurse we call Mo Mo who brought in doughnuts, nothing like a 4 am boston cream to get the old juices flowin’. It really peps you up, that sugar and carbohydrate really just maximizes the energy potential and motivates us to be the best we can at solitaire. No, I wish we had time to play solitaire. The only reason why I am typing this is because I am at triage, and this just happens to be the least busy time slot, 5a-7a.

I guess there is not much more to say, I better get off here before I jinx myself and the floodgates open. Oh, looky here comes a visitor.

The girls and I pose for a pic outside
